Thirty-three years ago a lady named Peg Schernikau had a dream of giving her 5 kids beautiful straight smiles. To make this a reality (on a really tight budget) she had to come up with a new source of income. Peg learned about detasseling and decided it could be the answer to that dream. She started with 10 kids in the back of a pick-up and thus Schernikau Detasseling was born. Three decades later, her 5 kids and their children continue on with this legacy.
