Straw Sticks & Bricks was formed in 2001. It is the result of a fruitless search for green materials in the Midwest during the construction of a straw bale home. Jen Carlson and Josh Shear moved into their straw bale house in 2000, and continued to research materials and building systems in order to build a business that could provide these hard-to-find materials to their community and region. The materials aren't quite as hard to find these days, but it can still be a challenge, and Straw Sticks & Bricks is here to help!
